As of the 1st July 2007 the way we dispose of electrical waste products, including lighting and lamps, changed. The European WEEE directive places the responsibility for collection and recycling of these products ultimately on the company who puts that product into the market place.

In order to comply with the WEEE directive Cortex Lighting have registered with a compliant scheme operated by a leading waste processing company called Electrolink, a division of Wastepack.

Cortex Lighting operate a 'take back' agreement with Electrolink for disposal of our products at the end of their life. At this time a fee may be charged for disposal as no fee was added to the product at the time of purchase. We feel it unfair to charge for a service that may not be required for a number of years.
